Large Projects

Mission 1 Communications has worked closely with Motorola on many large construction projects in the last 20 years. On many of these we have worked directly for Motorola and others we have worked through a construction management company. Regardless we have worked closely and well with all parties to successfully complete the projects. An outline of this work is stated below.

Mission 1 Communications worked with Motorola from 1996 to 2001 to complete the construction portion of the Michigan State Police 800 MHz communication system. The build was (180) new tower sites spread throughout Michigan in all types of terrain conditions. These towers had an average height of 430 feet, and included many guyed towers close to 500 feet as well as dozens of 485’ foot self- support towers. We have continued to work with Motorola to add new counties and municipalities onto this State system including: Genesee County, Macomb County, Mason/ Oceana Counties, the City of Detroit, St. Clair County, Washtenaw County, Berrien County and various others.

Mission 1 Communications has also worked on the “Project Hoosier Safety” with Motorola and Hanson Professional Services, “Project Hoosier Safety” is Indiana’s multi agency 800 MHz communication system. Mission 1 Communications performed tower construction and tower modification work, antenna and line installs, civil and electrical site construction as needed for this project.

Mission 1 Communications recently completed a project with Motorola and Pyramid Network Services for the State of Virginia (Stars) radio system. This project was the development of almost three hundred tower sites through-out the state to meet the communications needs of the State. Mission 1 Communications in collaboration with Pyramid Network Services has recently begun several large public safety projects including the State of Tennessee, State of Maryland, Berks County, PA, Cortland County, Niagara County, NY; NY, St Louis, St Charles and Jefferson County, MO, Berks County, PA among various others,

Mission 1 Communications is also part of the Motorola Disaster Relief Team and helped get public service communications back online for the city of New Orleans and surrounding areas after Hurricane Katrina.

Some of the other Motorola projects Mission 1 Communications has worked on include Marian County, IN (MECA), City of Louisville, KY, Gloucester County, VA, St. Joseph County, IN, the State of Ohio (MARCS) Project, Independence, Missouri; Allen County, Indiana, City of Detroit, MI; Lucas County, Ohio and various others.

Tower Erection: Mission 1 Communications has vast experience in erecting monopoles, guyed towers, and self-support towers. Mission 1 Communications working for Motorola on the Michigan State Police system Mission 1 Communications installed more than 180 towers throughout the State of Michigan in all types of terrain conditions. These towers had an average height of 430 feet, and included many guyed towers close to 500 feet as well as dozens of 485’ foot self-support towers. Mission 1 Communications also worked on homeland security project with Motorola for the State of Virginia STARS project and completed almost three hundred towers. Mission 1 Communications has also erected many specialty stealth structures including, tree poles, flag poles, clock towers, Doppler radar towers, FAA radar structures. We have also had a great deal of experience with small towers for local, county and commercial entities. No install is too small or too tough for our experienced erectors.
